Day trip to Scarborough

13th August 2019 / hmcreativelady / 0 Comments
  • Train arrives in Hebden Bridge. Eric the dog is excited! Diesel to York, then pick up our steam engine.

    Eric’s curly fur
    Accepts her gentle strokes
    As he falls asleep
  • Wedding anniversary celebrations get under way early in the day

    8 years to the day
    A bottle of Prosecco
    Toasts their union
  • An inside joke

  • All the fun of the fair aboard our train. Every facet of human nature!

    Off to the seaside
Holiday day trippers sit and wait
    Patiently – or not!
  • Life aboard first class
  • We arrive in Scarborough – all 400 of us
  • Photo of The Grand Hotel inside the Grand Hotel
  • Haven’t I seen this somewhere before? Recently? Strange. I last visited Saltburn and Scarborough in 1982 when I hiked the Cleveland way between the two seaside resorts, and now, here I am, visiting both places within two weeks.
  • It’s SOOOOOOO British
  • Ditto
  • Ditto, ditto
  • Still a major fishing port
  • At the Spa
  • Imposing castle
  • Being a tourist
  • The obligatory selfie
  • A helping hand

    Outside York station
    Waiting for our steam engine
    Scarborough bound are we
